What Is the FMS Cable?

FMS stands for Fleet Management System. It’s a standardised 12-pin connector that European truck manufacturers — including Volvo, Scania, DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Iveco, and Renault — built into their vehicles specifically so fleet management devices can access vehicle data without modifying the factory wiring.

The Teltonika FMS Cable connects your FMx6 series GPS tracker directly to that port. From one plug, you get:

The Problem This Cable Solves

Most aftermarket GPS installations tap directly into a truck’s wiring harness. That creates two problems.

Second, it risks the manufacturer’s warranty. Trucks are expensive assets. Major brands have warranty terms that can be affected by modifications to the electrical system. What Data Does It Pull From the Truck?

When you connect through the FMS port, your Teltonika tracker reads live data directly from the truck’s own systems. The exact data available depends on what the truck’s ECU exposes via J1939, but typically includes:
